Obama during his presidential campaign touted using reconstructive techniques to resolve middle east conflicts. Building the future of Afghanistan through infrastructure and civilian labor forces which would create jobs and initiate modernization. During the President’s recent address, the focus seems to be more militaristic rather than civilian reconstruction. No drug trade or Taliban plan, just more troops.

After nearly 2 years of legislative work the Telecom Package is due to be put to a final vote in Parliament on 24 November in Strasbourg. Under a deal reached between MEPs and Council negotiators earlier this month public authorities will only be allowed to cut users’ internet access after a “fair and impartial” procedure including the user’s “right to be heard”.

Washington (CNN) – Speaker Nancy Pelosi kept the door open Tuesday to a proposal by several senior House Democrats to impose a graduated surtax on American taxpayers to finance the war in Afghanistan.
While Pelosi wasn’t pressed about the details of the new war tax, she pointed to strong reservations among Congressional Democrats about the costs of the war during a conference call Tuesday with several economic writers and bloggers.

The EPA has been compiling data for decades on manufacturing emissions levels and rates. Extensive studies have been performed on the impact of emissions on the environment and industry’s reaction to increasing regulation and the impact it has had on emissions.
The EPA has several programs in place to curb emissions for improving air health quality, reducing acid rain, and reducing global warming from what the EPA refers to as Greenhouse Gas emissions.
